Silent Legions Hook:
Among the personal effects of a defeated foe, the heroes find a document pointing to a Secret at the site, possibly with a clue
toward a Friend there who might know more.

defeated foe -> SL NPC Creator -> The person responsible for hiding it or investigating it is a Admired Asian Young Carpenter
The Site -> Horror GMA -> Battleground and Mineshaft
The Secret -> who owe much money to someone (the Friend!) in the situation.
The Document -> A check
The Friend -> An FBI Colleague

We were called to the old Mines. Some workers heard shooting noises. An young asian who made himself a name as a fine carpenter was found shot inside the mines.
The only reason the FBI was called in, was because on the man a check was found with the name of one of our colleagues “Nuo Hunter”.

Scene 1 – 9 am – The “Battlegound”
Story Direction: 91 -> Dice Roll -> I see something -> Strange lights coming from outside

While I take a look on the murder scene myself, I realize that strange light is hitting the body of the victim. It seems to somehow sip in from the outside down here into the mineshaft, creating an eerie atmosphere.

Do I get any intel from the workers present at the mine? -> (40) Maybe -> Mechanically Pale ->
The worker who found the body still to be kind of under shock. He is pale and is responses are forced and mechanical. I do not think I get a lot of additional infos here.

Scene 2 – 10 am – Back at the office
Story Direction: 12 -> Downtime -> Undisturbed ->
The drive to the office is undisturbed and surprisingly relaxing.

I aim directly to the office of the Director.

It seems the boss is holding a general briefing.

I knock and then I open the door and shout in B:”I come from the mines Boss, do you have a minute?”
Does he interrupts his current meeting? (+20) (86+20) -> Yes -> B:”Sorry guys, we continue with this later. Agent Derek come in!”
AD:”Boss bad news, the report from law inforcement was right. Nuos name was on the check. What do we do now. Should we involve the internals?”

B: “Of course we involve internal affairs. Actually they are already here.”
AD:”Damn that was quick.”
B: “They investigating Nuo as we speak.”

B:” Derek I trust you and because of that i want you to shadow those gentlemen from the internals. I do not like secrets, so it would be great if you could help to bring some light into the darkness. Can you do that Derek?”
“Sure, I’m on it!”

Scene 3 – 10:30 am – At my Desk
Story Direction: 64 -> Danger -> You receive a disturbing phone call or phone message. -> consecrate bet ->
My Delta Green Burner Phone vibrates in my pocket. I received a message on it. “There is more to it than meets the eye. Everything is part of a consecrate bet. Let’s swallow the cat piss!”
My Handler wants a meeting at our usual meeting point. I sent him a time when I’m there. So not only is the FBI corrupt, but also something unnatural is involved? It becomes an interesting week.
Let’s use the time here to do some research.

Do I know Agent Hunter personally? 50/50 (28) -> No
Any Badhabits known of him? 50/50 (48) -> Maybe -> Positively + Delightful -> No, Nuo Hunter has the reputation of a positive and delightful person.

Are any infos in about the victim? 50/50 (49) -> Maybe -> Very Dry -> No, the lab is still on it, and besides the check there were no remarkable findings.

Anything remarkable known about the Mineshaft where the Carpenter was shot? 50/50 (12) -> No

All leads went dry so I waiting for my Handler meeting, to talk to Nuo and my meeting with the Handler. What comes in first? 1d6: 1-2 Nuo, 3-4 Lab, 5-6 Handler -> 1 Nuo

Scene 4 – 11:30 am – “Talking” to Nuo
80 -> Danger -> An attempt on your life. -> From Nuo? (94) -> Yes -> Carry + Love ->
Agent Hunter is coming out of the interrogation room with the internal investigators. They part ways and i use the opportunity to cut straight to him. While I’m walking towards him, his facial expression immediately changes when he sees me. I see also his hand wandering to his gun. I immediately react and jump for cover.

Check 2D6 ( General + Occupation) -> 2 + 5 -> 5 The Agent succeeds and may get an advantage. ->
I saw the attack coming early enough, so I jump into a favorable position behind a desk at the flank of Agent Hunter. I land with his feet in front of my eyes. I point my gun at one of his ankles and shoot.

Check 2D6 ( General + Occupation) -> 2 + 6 -> 6 The Agent succeeds brilliantly and gets something extra. Maybe more than they bargained for. The Handler may confront them with a difficult truth. -> Agent Hunters foot explodes in a bloody mess -> +1 Stress / +1 Mythos Point

The rest of the office is able to subdue Agent Hunter. After some confusion everyone understands that I was just defending myself. Agent Hunter is brought to a hospital.

Scene 4 – 12:30 am – Never eat alone
Story Direction: Downtime -> Undisturbed -> I’m getting in early into the shitty pub that is our meeting place. That gives me some time to stomach the events of this morning.

The meeting place is an old kind of run down pub. There is my handler coming.

Scene 5 – 14:00 – At the Hospital
Story Direction: Dice Roll -> You see something -> Strange lights coming from outside -> “When entering the Hospital, the sun takes on an eerie glow through the thick clouds. Kind of reminding me of the glow shining down on me in the mines earlier this day.”

Is Agent Hunter in a State in which he can be interrogated? -> (48) Maybe -> Fortunately, Valuable -> Nurse:”He is still weak from the emergency surgery, but he can talk. Be gentle with him Agent.”
She leads me into his room. Inside the eerie glow from the sun seems more intense.
UNE Conversation Mood: Neutral
The insane Agent Hunter speaks of confusion regarding the (1-2 Dead Carpenter, 3-4 Attack on the PC, 5-6 himself -> (4) Attack on the PC) weapon ->

AH:”Oh Agent Derek. I saw you before today, right I tried to shoot you. Seems like having the idea first is not enough to make sure it will happen as expected. The Doctors tell me you did a tremendous job of blowing my favorite food into tiny bits of flesh and bone. Told me they saw explosion wounds with more tissue to rescue. So congrats colleague?”
AD:”I’m sorry Hunter. But I just did what I needed to do in the moment. I guess you can understand.
AH:” Oh understanding is the difficult part at the moment. Not your actions, actually my actions. You see, I did not walked out of that room thinking “What a nice day to kill Agent Derek.” Actually I did not think of you in a long while. But then you stand there and suddenly there was this urge to end you. Actually it still tickles me when I see you. Something inside me wants you dead. I do not know why. But it is like having a crave on fast food. You know it is not good for you, but damn is it satisfying to just let go.”
AD:” Thanks for the warning I guess.”
AH:”You are welcome!”
AD:” Why did you kill this young carpenter fellow?”
AH:”Because he wanted me too. But you already know that, right?”

AH:”I need information about one of the users posting in the Dream Syndicate forums. The user posted the “Hastur visions”, but always logged in in anonymous mode. I think one of the admins might be able to get at least an IP.”
AD:”Why should I help you?”
AH:”Because if you do not, you will never know what those postings mean. Maybe that is the better path. Ignorance is bliss. I just doubt that your string pullers are seeing it the same way.”
AD:”Do you have a contact to one of those admins?”
AH:”Yes, his name is Santino Vega. I already know where he lives. Don’t thank me.”

Scene 6 – 12 pm – Shitty Motel
Story Direction: (59+1) Discovery -> Your memory is sparked regarding something you had heard regarding an aspect of the case, some time ago. -> 1d6 vs 1d6 -> 6>2 Success -> The Agent succeeds brilliantly and gets something extra. Maybe more than they bargained for. -> Clue Table: A ancient relic of some sort -> During the drive Agent Derek remebers facts he read abot a old tome called The Apocalypse Codex ->Silent Legion: Occult Grimoires Tables:

-> While I was driving, I got in kind of a trance. Visions of the Apocalypse Codex entered my thoughts. Showed its creation and how it was passed through time. Revealing facts after facts about this tome. Like a miracle I arrived safe at the shitty motel I envisioned as the operation base to find the forums admin. (+5 MP / Insight Roll -> (2) +1 Insight)

Completely devastated I fell into my bed. (Choosen Downtime)

Scene 7 – 7 am – A good nights sleep

Fortunately the night went better as the drive. Welcome nothingness provided rest. I head out early to get a grip on this Vega guy.

Scene 8 – 8 am – At Vega’s house.
Story Direction: (94+4) Dice Roll -> (44) You see something -> (28+4) Blood and guts strewn over the floor.
I walk to the door of Vega’s house. I just wanted to ring the bell, as I see that blood is sipping under the door to the floor mat I’m standing on.
