Scene 10 – 6 pm – The Thing in the Tree
Story Direction -> (76 + 10) Dice Roll -> (71) Random Event -> (77+10) -> “Bugs begin massing on the walls in your apartment, but often they
make strange patterns, like symbols.” ->
Suddenly the Tree is surrounded by hundred of Bugs building a stange unfamiliar pattern around the tree.

But the bugs are probably the least of my problems, as I see something reaching downwards from the tree crown to the trunk. Slowly but steadily climbing down the tree. All is accompanied by a horrific clicking sound, also coming from the tree. The first limb is followed by another, and another, and a seemingly never ending stream of way to many limbs for any being of the size of a human. First I thought its skin is adapting to the colors of the tree, like a camaleon, but then I realize in horror that it is transparent, and the more of the eldritch creature is revealed, the more I realize I can see its muscleas and even inner organs, as its skin would be made of glass. But this look only adds to the horrific appearance, as nothing what I see matches with anything I saw in any biology class I ever attended. Once the whole thing is in my sight, even though it has many more limbs like a human it also has kind of a fish like nature to it, underlined by a massiv fishlike tale.
Watching the Creature produces Stress and tests Sanity-> Rolling Dark Die -> (5) -> Stress and Insight raised by one S=3, I=3
+ 5 Mythospoints -> Total MP = 15

Watching the unnatural thing crawling down the tree paralyzes me. I watch in horror and awe. Then I realize that I need to move and I have to move fast!
Does the thing attack Vega sitting under the Tree? -> -20% -> (91-20=71) Yes

As the creature reached Vega he looks at it with the same smirk he gave me, but the creature started to lash out at him with one of its many limbs. As it hit Vega his Body started to crystalize immediatly and the power of the impact shattered the mineral structure like ice.
Vega lies in two halfs on the floor bleeding and gasping.

Does the creature start to approach me? +20 -> (14+20) No
What does it do? -> Detail Check -> Disfavors Thread + Care Attention

After it killed Vega it starts to smash Vega remains and belongings. As everthing it attacks got crystalized, Vegas Body, his Backpack and his laptop got smashed into fine dust.

I use the moment of distraction to run. Unfurtunately the building is still full of teenagers. So my first goal is to reach a fire alarm.
Do I reach a firealarm? -> Human Die -> (1) The Agent barely succeeds, but maybe not in the way they intended. The Handler determines how. ->
Unfortunately the building seems not to be build according to any Firehazard Standards. As such there seems not to be a fire alarm system. As such I run screaming through the building screaming “Fire! Fire! Get the fuck out!”
Do the teenagers react?-> +20 -> (94+20) Yes->
Luckily the teenagers have an urge of self preservation, so they start to run screamingly out of the building.
Did the creature followed me? -> (18) No
Till now the thing was either not able to catch up with me or lost interest. Either way I need to find a way to neutralize the thing immediatly.
I try to start a fire -> Human Die & Occupation Die vs Failure Die -> 6 & 4 – vs 1 -> 6 The Agent succeeds brilliantly and gets something extra. Maybe more than they bargained for. The Handler may confront them with a difficult truth. ->
When you learn one thing as an operative involved with Delta Green is to create an effective fire. Soon enough the whole building is lighting up. I exit the building. To see if anything escapes.
As I stand there see the “Swimhole” burning some scared teenagers approach me and ask:
Teenager1: “Did the Chessclub made it out? Their club room is behind the garden. Where you able to warn them as well?”
-> Dark Die against Stress -> 3 -> Sress keeps at 3
I realize that there were probably teenagers who did not made it out, but at this time casualties become the sad reality of the Job.
AD: “Go home kiddo!”
Is anything coming out of the fire? -> (20) No
I’m waiting as long as I can to make sure nothing comes out of the flames, but then I hear sirense, my signal to get out.

7 pm – Checkin Call
Story Direction -> 28+15 -> Discovery -> Human Dice vs Failure dice -> 3 vs 1 -> Success -> “A news report relating to your case” -> Gained one Insight Point -> Detail Check -> Disfavors PC + Bleakly, Colorful ->
As I’m sitting in my Car preparing to call my Handler, several news flashes are running through the radio that catch my attention.
“Today was a bleak day for our community. First Bernadette Vega was found in a horrifying state in her own home. Police described the found, as the result of a seemingly horrific chemical accident, may be related to the production of drugs. Her Son Santino Vega could not be found. Any clues that lead to his location are welcome by the local police. Secondly the youth center called the “Swimhole” fall victim to a massive fire. The Police found multiple corpses. Identification is still going on.”

I call my Handler.

Friendly NPC speaks of support regarding the PCs allies
H:”Yes?”
AD: “I located and neutralized the threat.”
H:”And you made a big mess while doing so!”
AD:”There was something in this building. I needed to neutralize it before it got hold.”
H:”You did the right thing there. I’m talking about the mess with Bernadette Vega. It took some work to get the story straight there.”
AD:”I cannot burn every location I step in.”
H:”I did not said you need to burn it. Bleach is cheap you know!”
AD: ” I’m not Delta Greens cleaning lady!”
H:”Are you sure about that?”
AD:”I do not need this shit right know. Where the other bodies identified?”
H:”Not yet. But do not worry, we do our best to help the families of the victims as good as we can. A promotion here. Some bureaucratic lubricant here.”
AD:”This will not bring their kids back!”
H:”Nothing will!”
AD:”What about Nuo Hunter?”
H:” He was transferred to a secure location. He is way to compromised to let him go.”
AD:”I understand. Please treat him fair, he was a good guy.”
H:”We do what we can, but also what we must. Go home, get some rest. You did good kiddo”
I hang up the phone and drive home.
