New Mission Setup:
Rogue Handler Mission Setup:
50 -> Culprit -> “In this scenario, a very bad person has come to your character’s attention.
Your adventure could be to neutralize the target or just surveillance.”
What is known of the Culprit -> RandomPDF -> “The Laundry” -> “The current staff researcher is Dr. Meredith Holmes, who is attempting to unravel the secrets of BLUE HADES sorcery. She is obsessed with her work and has come to admire the Deep Ones more than she should.”
Mission: Assess if Dr. Meredith Holmes is still on our side. Assess and contain the threat.
Hidden Identity: Worker at the Research Facility
Location: Dunwich -> Map Page 244 The Laundry “Going Down to Dunwich”

The Journey to Dunwich:
“After an hour’s drive, the bus pulls into a nameless cove with a small concrete jetty, where a small motorboat waits. The driver gestures for everyone to pile into the boat. ‘Only way to Dunwich is by sea. Can’t get through the woods, can’t get up the cliffs. All closed.’ On board, there are old lifejackets that smell strongly of fish; one of the jackets is splattered with old bloodstains and what looks remarkably like a bullet hole. Once everyone is on board, the boat laboriously chugs out of the cove and along the coast.”
“The village is two rows of ramshackle old cottages
running down to the sea; there is a large farmhouse atop
the hill, looking down at the village. There are also several
prefabricated buildings in various states of repair in the
surrounding fields, a three-storey building that looks like a
hostel and what looks like a weather station on the hill near
the big farmhouse. The whole place looks damp and dull,
like a holiday camp in the rain. The one potential bright spot
is the pub, the Dog and Whistle.”

“The motorboat pulls up to another jetty. Waiting there is a
woman dressed in a parka jacket and carrying a clipboard.
She introduces herself as Leah Poisson and checks the
characters’ names off on her clipboard. Her forced
enthusiasm is only slightly dampened by the rain. The
characters’ shoes, though, are thoroughly dampened by the
time she leads them off the jetty and through the village to
the Monkfish Motel, the three-storey building they glimpsed
from the shore.”

“Welcome to the Village,’ announces Leah, ‘we’ve got a full
schedule for you, so no slacking. We’ll get you settled in
the dormitory and let you have a cup of tea, then there is
an orientation briefing and some paperwork before dinner.”

“After stowing their belongings at the Monkfish Motel, the
characters are called to one of the prefab buildings for their
introduction and orientation meeting.”

5 pm – Orientation
Story Direction: Discovery -> “You observe/are caught up in some occurrence directly relating to what you are investigating Leah is going through boring safety regulations. -> 1 Human Die + 1 Occupation Die vs 1 Failure Die -> 6+5vs2 -> The Agent succeeds brilliantly and gets something extra. Maybe more than they bargained for. The Handler may confront them with a difficult truth. -> +1 Insight Point
Detail Check -> Focus PC + Yieldingly Mundane
Is Dr. Holmes part of the Orientation meeting? -> -20% (55-20=35) -> Maybe -> Cheerfully Gloriuos ->

Dr. Holmes is not part of Orientation, but Leah is describing her in Glorious terms, as the most wonderful person she ever met.

During the mindnumbing boring meeting, my mind wanders back to the briefing with my Handler and why I’m here.
H: “You are going to Dunwich Agent Derek”
AD: “Why?”
H:”We have to keep taps on one of our Researchers. Her name is Dr. Meredith Holmes.”
AD:”And what is the issue with her?”
H:”To all our accounts she is doing terrific work. But she fails to check in regularly and works with dangerous things. We want to make sure everything is alright at the research facility at Dunwich.”
AD:”What is she working on?”
H:”Her Project has the codename Blue Hades. It deals with things that are the reason we both are talking to each other.”
AD:”What are those things?”
H:”You mentioned the thing you saw in the tree looked fishlike?”
AD: “Yes…”
H:”As I heard that my first thought was regarding those fishlike bastards which were raided in Innsmouth by the fathers of Delta Green?”
-> Dark Die against Insight -> 3 = 3 -> Insight remains 3 -> +1 MP
AD:”There were other fishlike creatures before? WHy didn’t you tell me?
H:”No need! Son, understand that ignorance is bliss in our profession. Unfortunately we need to know what is going on with Dr. Holmes!”
AD: “What is my cover?”
H:”Dr. Holmes recruits men regularly for grunt work around her research lab and in the village. We managed to get you in one of the recent openings.”
AD:”When do I start?”
H:”Youre flight goes tomorrow morning!”
AD:”Great…

Will I work at the Research Facility? -> 50/50 (2) -> No! ->
Damn, I’m selected for physical grunt work around the village, because of my sturdy build.
I may have to have accept that this might take a while, before I work my way up to Dr. Holmes.

The meeting finally ends. Darkness sets in.

8 pm – A cold Beer
Story Direction: Discovery -> You run into someone, possibly a relative of someone who fell victim to this mystery. (Roll on NPC tables). This has reached further than you previously thought…
NPC Table -> Male Frightend Missionary ->
UNE:
The knowing NPC speaks of history regarding (1. Holmes, 2. Leah, 3. Agent Derek, 4-6 New NPC = 3 Agent Derek) power.->
History -> BOLD -> bitter the wild (natural) overcome by counteraction

I’m ordering a cold beer when I turn to find a seat, and I’m greated with the blank stare, of what seems by his clothings, to be a missionary.
Suddenly the missionary starts to mumble frightend: “He killed it before…he may kill it again!”
Can I gain some information from him -> Human Die + Occupation Die vs Failure Die -> 4 + 1 vs 5 -> Failure
Does this draw attention? -> +20 (53+20=73) -> Yes -> Bravely, Nondescript -> 1-3 Person, 4-6 Group = 2 Person

I get some dirty looks of some locals. Then suddenly a person I did not see before is coming out of the shadows, lays his arm on the shoulder of the missionary and gently pushes him out of the pub.
The person comes back:
NPC Creator: Male Egotistical Drifter
UNE:
The knowing NPC speaks of examination regarding the (1-3 Agent Derek, 4-6 Missionary= Agent Derek) community.
Name (Horror GMA):Amon Balder

AB:”Watch out stranger with who yor drink youre beer!”
AD:”And who are you?”
AB:”Besides the guy who saved you a lot of trouble? I’m Amon. Amon Balder. And you?
AD:”Derek. Just Derek. Thanks Amon.”
AB:”My pleasure!”
Does Amon knows something about Dr. Holmes? 50/50 14 -> No
Does Amon knows something about Dunwhich? 50/50 4 -> No
AB:”I’m like you. Just here to make some money. It is stupid grunt work. Good to fill the wallet.”

The long day is making me tired. I go to my chamber.

10 pm – A cozy Bed
Story Direction: 95+1 -> Dice Roll -> You hear something -> Chanting , From the water which is slowly filling up the room.
Tired I fall into my simple bed. But it feels like heaven.
I start to drift into well deserved sleep, when I suddenly hear chanting coming from the sea side. I step to my window, the chanting gets louder. I feel cold water running under my feet.
Looking out of the window I do not see the sea in the distance, but water violently hitting my window, like the the sea is engulfing the whole house. Water is running through cracks of the window slowly filling up the room.
