Impossible Landscapes – A Volume of Secret Faces (Session 4)

Scene 12(CF:8) – Sticky Note – 23:00pm
Location Crafter > 8,6,7 > The Cotton-Candy Room (unique), Gary Topchick, Nightfloor Clue > The Letterhead

Mike still a little bit weary from what happened during group therapy is led by Thomas to the exit of the Cotten-Candy-Room. As both want to exit they are stopped by a thin young man with curly red hair and bifocal glasses who speaks in a thick New York accent. He wears hospital pajamas beneath a tweed jacket.

Man:”Hope Dr. Friend did not took you on too heavily during Group Session. Those can be a bummer.”

Mike notices a bruises under the eyes of the man.

Man:”I’m Gary, Gary Topchick!”
ThomasW:”You have something sticking to your back!”
Gary:”Pardon?”
Mike:”No he is right, there is a note taped to your back. May I?”
Gary:”Sure, go ahead!”

Mike carefully takes the note off of Gary’s back.
An elegant page of cream-colored stationery was glued to Gary’s back with a piece of tape. It is crumpled but new. The heading reads “HOTEL BROADALBIN, NEW YORK CITY” in an art deco font, but there is no street address. Scribbled in pen is a rudimentary map which shows an elevator (marked with an X and “elev.”) and various tunnels, leading to a smaller X which reads, “JL bottle.”

Does Thomas recognizes the paper? 50/50 > Yes >
Thomas grabs the paper out of Mike’s hand.
ThomasW:”I saw this before! I saw this in Abby’s apartment. I did not looked at it closely at the time, but I clearly recognizes it as the same papper sticking to her room.”

Does Gary knows Abigail Wright? > 50/50 > No >
Gary:”Sorry Gentleman, but I do not know any Abigail Wright. And this piece of paper seems to be a cruel joke on my behalf.”
Mike:”Did other patients appear here recently? Like six of them?”
Gary:”People are coming and going here all the time at the Hospital. But I do not recall any occurence of a number of new patients recently. But time can be a fleeting thing at this place!”
Mike:”Thanks, I keep the note if you don’t mind.”
Gary:”Be welcome!”

Scene 13(CF:8) – The Clown Part 1 – 23:30pm
Trigger Keyed Scene The Clown

As Gary, Thomas and Mike want to part ways Mike suddenly sees a figure at the end of the Hallway.

An unseen orchestra starts a strange, looping dirge interspersed with a relentless drum. A clown wearing a strange, multi-colored outfit covered in triangles is highlighted by a spotlight of unknown source. A clown mask covers the entire head. Its face is a smile exposing geometric teeth. Its eyes are black slits. The clown dances towards the three men timed precisely to the music.

Gary looks in terror to the upcoming clown and screams:”Run!” He himself immediatly runs away from the dancing figure.

Mike:”Thomas move! Follow me!”

Does Thomas obey > very likely > Exceptional No

ThomasW:”I’m not afraid of no Clown! Mike go hide somewhere. If something wild is happening, find my Abigail, tell her I love her!”
Mike:”Don’t be stupid!”
ThomasW:”I wish I was more stupid sometimes. Run now!”

Mike runs as fast as he can to the next corner of the hallway. From there he can still see Thomas. He sees terror in Thomas eyes, even if his face radiates confidence.

The Clown and the music are stopping as the Clown stands right in front of Thomas. The Clown has the exact same height as Thomas and he is tilting his head, as if he examines Thomas.
Then a big orchestestral bang is heard as the Clown claps his both hands on the side of Thomas Face.

As the hands are touching Thomas, he explodes into a spray of the red oil-like substance, disintegrating like a popped balloon filled with the stuff.

The Clown greedily seems to lick the substance, which is spilled all over his body, as if to consume it.

Mike is shouting:”Noooo!”

Dark Die against Insight and Stress > 2 > No increase >

Mike, not want to have let his friend die in vane, makes himself ready to run, as the Clown turns his head and looks directly at Mike. But instead of pursuing him, the Clown wheels back into the spotlight, the light turns black and the creature is gone.
