Impossible Landscapes – The Nightfloors (Session 4)

Scene 6(CF:4) – Back at Abigails Apartment – 2:15pm
Thomas finally arrives back at Abigails apartment.
He thinks back at the new Clues he gathered:
– the other Tenants are mentioning the Nightfloors over and over
– Abigail might have an Apartment “on six” with the number 12A
– She got hands on or wrote a “Play”

Thomas decides to do another search in Abigails apartment with those three clues in mind as a filter:

Apartment search > Human Dice + Occupation > 6,6 > 6 > The Agent succeeds brilliantly and gets something extra. Maybe more than they bargained for. The Handler may confront them with a difficult truth.

Thomas finds:
The Macallistar Map
The Play
The Yellow Sign

Hidden under a sticky note Thomas finds something weird. A sign, It lends the room a feeling of subtle melancholy, anxiety, and paranoia.

Dark Die against Insight > 4 vs 3 > Insight rises to 4 > Corruption +1 to 3

Thomas removes the sticky note. He feels everyone entering the room should see it!

Next he takes a look at the sheets, that seem part of a play.
Pages of the mysterious play were present, shoved into spaces between objects on the wall.

It reads:
The characters mentioned include all of the tenants, as well as several unknowns: The Super, Mr. Castaigne, The Encyclopedia Salesman, Mark Roark, and the Dog, as well as a Police Officer. The pages seem to tell a story involving all the people in the building as characters.

One scene describes how the Police officer breaks through ThomasM door and asks him were Abigail is.

Dark Die for Insight> 1 vs 4 > Insight remains the same
Corruption Check> 6 vs 3> Corruption rises to 4

Last Thomas takes a look at something that looks like a map of the building:
This large map drawn on butcher-block paper shows a simplified architectural floor plan of the Macallistar Building, along with an X marking each closet. It was obviously drawn by an artist. Some closets are marked up with scrawled notes such as: “Door on 7/12,” “Roses and butter,” and “Man with briefcase and white shoes.” In addition, doors have been drawn in on the edges of the map next to the roof access door, with markings such as “Mr. Castaigne” and “The Parlor.” They seem to make little sense. The third-floor landing is marked “NIGHT FLOORS” with a big red X drawn in (and a small notation reading “dead guy in mask”). On the second-floor landing in the back is a sketch of a noose. The map shows no intentional irregularities in construction.

Thomas starts to think he goes insane, but might the infamous “Night Floors” wait for him upstairs? Only one way to find out.

How much time has passed? (1d6) > 6 hours >8:15am
Corruption Check > 10 vs 4 > rises to 5

But Thomas realises that the morning long has come. He needs to go, in case official law enforcement makes a move.
He parked his 1989 Ford Taurus at long-term parking on 41st Street and Second Avenue and checked in at the Ace Hotel on Times Square before coming to Abigails apartment.

He retreats to the hotel. Careful to avoid any police that might be present.

Any issues for Thomas leaving the building? > Unlikely > Yes
What kind? > Random event: Ambigious event: Dominate Food

But before all that Thomas need to grab something to eat!
